5-time world champion Viswanathan Anand suffered a shock loss to USA’s Wesley So in the second round of the Tata Steel Masters chess meet. Anand had played out a draw in the first round but was going on smoothly in the second round with the black pieces only to be halted on the 22nd turn when one more piece sacrifice would have secured a draw. Meanwhile, Magnus Carlsen had to settle for a draw against Yu Yangyi.
