Mary Kom won her 8th medal at the World Women’s Boxing Championship after reaching the semifinals (51kg) in Russia. The pugilist beat Colombia’s Valencia Victoria with a unanimous 5-0 verdict to reach the last four. With this win, the Indian boxing icon also improved her own record as the most successful boxer in the tournament’s history. Before the tournament started, she had six gold and a silver in 48kg category.
