Opener Prithvi Shaw skipped Thursday’s training session with a swelling on his left foot ahead of the second Test against New Zealand starting on Saturday. Shaw will now have a blood test. If the report is okay then the final call will be taken in Friday’s practice session. Shubman Gill had a good net session on Thursday and he might be asked to open the innings alongside Mayank Agarwal in case Shaw is unavailable.
