The team management axed KL Rahul from his role as the vice-captain of the team for the third and fourth Test. Former head coach Ravi Shastri has suggested that the Indian team should refrain from nominating a vice-captain in home conditions. He claims that appointing a deputy to the skipper can create unnecessary complications and the team should rather look at a player to lead the side when the captain has to leave the field of play.
