FIFA to support footballers with unpaid wages

FIFA will help footballer left unpaid by their clubs. Recent incidents have thrown light on the gravity of the problem where clubs fail to pay players’ wages, mostly after shutting down. The $16 million fund has been agreed by players union FIFPRO and FIFA. It will give income support worth $11 million for the next three years while the rest of the amount will be used for retroactive protection from 2015 and 2020.
