New Zealand had to cancel the first day of their 2-day warm-up match against Cricket Victoria due to extreme heat forecast in Australia. Tuesday and Wednesday saw record average temperatures, reaching 41.9C. The heat may rise again on Friday with a maximum of 45C in Melbourne. The Black Caps coach Gary Stead has confirmed New Zealand will train at the MCG on Saturday morning before playing a one-day match on Sunday.
