Former England captain Joe Root smashed a record-breaking century to help his side beat by five wickets New Zealand on the fourth day of the first Test at Lord's on Sunday. With this century Root became the second batsman from England after Alastair Cook to reach the 10,000 run landmark. Rood is the 14th batsman overall to achieve this feat.
