Football star Cristiano Ronaldo won the Serie A player of the year award and was named in the Italian top flight's best XI. Ronaldo attended the ceremony at the Gran Gala del Calcio in Milan, where he collected his prize. He skipped the Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris where he was 3rd in the voting for best player in the world behind winner Lionel Messi and 2nd-place Virgil van Dijk. He scored 28 goals in all competitions for Juventus.
