In a totally unexpected event, Argentine fencer Maria Belen Perez Maurice was proposed by her coach in front of television cameras at the Olympics. Lucas Saucedo, the coach and long-term partner of Maurice, proposed Maurice when she was answering questions from reporters after a first-round exit. It was the second time that Saucedo had proposed to her in a similar fashion and this time, Maurice said yes.
