Afghanistan registered their first-ever victory against Pakistan after defeating them by six wickets in the 1st T20I of a three-match series at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. Batting first, Pakistan could only post a total of 92-9 in their 20-over quota. Fazlhaq Farooqui, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi picked up two wickets each. The Afghan team then managed to chase down this below-par total within 17.5 overs.
