UN has condemned human rights abuses against Muslim Rohingya and other minorities in Myanmar. The Buddhist-majority country has been asked to stop the incitement of hatred against the Rohingya and other minorities. Thousands of Rohingya were murdered while more than 700,000 escaped to neighbouring Bangladesh after an army crackdown in the country in 2017. Myanmar, however, says it was fighting an extremist threat.
