The first round of talks between Russia and Ukraine ended late on Monday IST with Ukraine insisting that Russia pull back troops immediately. Even as the talks were on, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed an application for membership of his country in the European Union. “Our goal is to be together with all Europeans and, most importantly, to be on an equal footing,” Zelenskyy said during a video address.
