NGT refuses to lift ban on diesel vehicles

The NGT refused to lift a ban on diesel vehicles in Delhi-NCR. Tribunal rejected centre plea of lifting the ban by saying that "One diesel vehicle causes pollution equal to 24 petrol vehicles and 40 CNG vehicles." NGT had banned diesel vehicles in Delhi older than 15 years in November 2014 and modified its order last July and put a ban on diesel vehicles older than 10 years.
