The Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) was inaugurated on May 16 and is marked as the second international airport in the Himalayan nation. It is situated a few kilometers away from Lumbini - the birthplace of Lord Buddha. The GBIA is the second international airport after the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. It was built after a gap of 74 years.
