Narendra Modi cabinet approves Rs 17,000 crore production-linked incentive scheme for IT hardware

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for IT Hardware with the aim to attract investments and promote the capacity and capability of Indian companies. The budgetary outlay of the PLI scheme is Rs 17,000 crores for a period of six years. The Union Minister said that the investments attracted by India in the telecom sector were more than the target.
