The mega-gathering of the Hindu devotees, Kumbh Mela that took place in Allahabad earlier this year had generated 18,000 thousand metric tonnes of solid waste. The government just transported the garbage to the nearby Baswar village only to dump in in the premises of a non-functional Sewage management plant. The National Green Tribunal has criticized the Yogi Adityanath govt for this and called it as 'grossest violation'.
