Iran missile strikes own ship, kills 19 sailors, injures others

An Iranian missile accidentally struck a naval support ship during an exercise in the Gulf of Oman, killing at least 19 sailor and wounding several others. According to reports, the Konarak, a Hendijan-class support ship, came too close to a target during an exercise on Sunday. It had been putting targets out for other ships to target. The Dutch-made, 47-meter 48-ton capacity vessel has been in service since 1988.
