United Nations’ Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders Mary Lawlor has joined several national and international rights organisations in condemning the arrest of rights activist Teesta Setalvad by Gujarat ATS, stating, “Teesta is a strong voice against hatred and discrimination". According to the international body, Targeting human rights activists for their legitimate human rights work is unacceptable.
