Kamal Khera, an Indo-Canadian MP set an example as she resigned as parliamentary secretary after violating the Covid travel restrictions in place in view of the coronavirus outbreak. The MP attended a memorial service for her uncle in the US. However, Khera argued that the purpose of her travel was “deemed essential under the circumstances”. The Brampton West MP said she didn't want to impact important government work.
