Canada walks away from free trade talks with China over Huawei issue

After broken trade ties between US and China, Canada has also walked away from the free trade talks with Beijing amid tensions over a Huawei executive's arrest and the detention of two Canadians by Beijing in a countermeasure. Canadian foreign minister Francois Philippe Champagne told the media that Canada was abandoning the free trade talks. "The China of 2020 is not the China of 2016," Champagne said.
