By converting diesel locomotive to electric, Indian Railways creates world-record

Indian Railways created history by converting its diesel locomotives to electric traction during their midlife rehabilitation. Piyush Goyal-led Indian Railways makes it possible in a record time of 69 days. The transition was done by the Diesel Locomotive Works in Varanasi. This move will give a major boost to Railways' mission of 100% electrification. New electric locomotive entered into service on December 3.
