Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had to take shelter during a campaign rally as the early warning systems showed a rocket from Gaza coming towards Israel. The Israeli military confirmed the launch against Ashkelon, which is 12 km from the coastal Palestinian enclave, and said the rocket was shot down by an Iron Dome air defence interceptor. Netanyahu was campaigning for the conservative Likud party.
