The Union government on Friday approved the name change of Osmanabad to Dharashiv, and Aurangabad to Shambhaji Nagar. The Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA government had passed a resolution for the two name changes. After a cabinet shuffle, Eknath Shinde-led government on 16 July gave cabinet approval to rename Aurangabad and Osmanabad and forwarded it to the Central government
