Former Iran President Abolhassan Banisadr passed away Saturday at the age of 88. Banisadr was Iran's 1st president after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He was impeached for challenging the growing power of clerics in the country after which he fled Tehran. Banisadr was a liberal man whose fate was announced by Jean-Paul Sartre who correctly predicted that the former would one day become Iran's President, 15 years before it happened.
