After a meeting between the Afghan Taliban and US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad in Islamabad, a prisoner swap agreement was signed between the two authorities. The Afghan Taliban has reportedly released at least 3 Indian engineers on Sunday, October 6, that were in custody of the Taliban since 2018, in exchange for 11 Taliban members including prominent leader Sheikh Abdul Rahim.
