Rekha Bhanurekha Ganesan is the daughter of famous Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan and Telugu actress Pushpavalli. In 1966, she debuted as a child performer in the Telugu film Rangul Ratnam. Her debut film, Anjana Safar, was made when she was still a teenager. Rekha had taken up acting for financial reasons rather than dreams.
