Stan Lee, the man credited with ushering in a new renaissance in comic books with his many flawed, relatable superheroes such as Spider-Man and Iron Man, died on November 12, 2018, after a lifetime spent redefining the literary genre's boundaries. Stan Lee then went on to work for the firm that would become Marvel Comics. Lee co-created the Fantastic Four superhero team with artist Jack Kirby in 1961, and was soon responsible for iconic characters like as Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Hulk, and Thor. Lee went on to work in a variety of comic-related businesses and multimedia endeavors.
