In the Second Battle of Panipat in 1556, Hindu Emperor of North India Hem Chandra Vikramaditya is defeated by Mughal Emperor Akbar's army, who capture and eventually behead Hem Chandra.

On November 5, 1556, the Second Battle of Panipat was fought between the forces of Samrat Hem Chandra Vikramaditya, popularly known as Hemu, the Hindu king who ruled North India from Delhi, and the army of Akbar. Khan Zaman I and Bairam Khan, Akbar's generals, won a decisive victory.
