In the year 2016, Alastair Cook becomes youngest batsman to score 10,000 in Test Cricket
The England opener has become the country's youngest batter to reach 10,000 Test runs, a feat formerly held by India's cricketing icon for more than a decade. Cook eclipsed Sachin's record with 5 runs in the second innings of the second Test against Sri Lanka. Cook, who turned 31 last Christmas, had amassed 9,964 Test runs prior to the commencement of this series, including 28 hundreds and 47 fifties.
