On March 17, 1990, Saina Nehwal was born. She is an Indian politician and professional badminton player who belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party. She was a former world number one and has won 24 international titles, including 10 Superseries crowns. Although she attained the world's second position in 2009, it wasn't until 2015 that she was able to gain the world no. 1 rating, becoming the only female player from India and the second Indian player overall – after Prakash Padukone – to do so. She has competed in three Olympics for India, winning a bronze medal on her second appearance in London in 2012.
