Shankar Mahadevan is an Indian vocalist and composer who is a member of the Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy composing trio for Indian cinema.
Shankar Mahadevan, born 3 March 1967, is an Indian vocalist and composer who is a member of the composition group Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy for Indian cinema. Shankar Mahadevan was born in Mumbai's Chembur neighbourhood to a Tamil-speaking family from Palakkad, Kerala. As a kid, he studied Hindustani classical and Carnatic music and began playing the veena at the age of five under Shri Lalitha Venkataraman. Pandit Shrinivas Khale and T.R. Balamani taught Mahadevan music.
