In 1932, 12 independence revolutionaries caught in and around Chittagong, Bengal province, India, under British control, were condemned to deportation for life, two to three-year prison sentences, and acquitted the remaining 32.
The mass trial of individuals detained during and after the raids ended in January 1932, and the verdict was handed down on March 1, 1932. Twelve of the accused were condemned to life in prison, two were sentenced to three years in jail, and the remaining 32 were acquitted. Ganesh Ghosh, Lokenath Bal, sixteen-year-old Ananda Gupta, and Ananta Singh were among the twelve people deported to Andaman.
