Since 1982, This day is observed as, International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression
Every year on June 4, the United Nations observes International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. It was founded on August 19, 1982. It is a sad truth that when armed conflict breaks out, the most vulnerable people of society – particularly children – suffer the most from the ravages of war. The six most prevalent breaches are child recruitment and use in warfare, killing, sexual assault, kidnapping, attacks on schools and hospitals, and denial of humanitarian access.
