Steve Waugh, the former Australian captain, was born on July 2, 1965, in Canterbury, Sydney. He batted in the middle order, right-handed, and used to bowl right-arm medium pace until a series of back issues caused him to retire. Waugh is one of the National Trust of Australia's list of 100 Australian Living Treasures. In 2003, he was granted the Order of Australia, and in 2010, he was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
