Since 2001, World Milk Day as an international day established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) established World Milk Day in 2001 to commemorate the importance of milk as a worldwide food and to honour the dairy industry. Since then, the advantages of milk and dairy products have been widely promoted over the world, especially how dairy helps one billion people's lives. On World Milk Day, all elements of milk and dairy are recognised, including their health and nutrition advantages, affordability and accessibility, and the sector's enthusiasm and dedication to feeding our communities.
