When the first total solar eclipse photograph was captured on July 28, 1851, that all changed. According to Space.com, the image was taken by Prussian daguerreotypist Johann Julius Friedrich Berkowski during a total solar eclipse in Königsberg, which is now Kaliningrad, Russia.
