Pusarla Venkata Sindhu (born July 5, 1995) is a badminton player from India. Sindhu is regarded as one of India's most successful athletes, having won medals at the Olympics and on the BWF circuit, including gold at the 2019 World Championships. She is the first and only Indian to win the badminton world championship, and she is only the second Indian athlete to win two consecutive Olympic medals. In April 2017, she reached a career-high world ranking of no. 2 for the first time.
