Benedict Wong is a British actor who was born on July 3, 1971. Since Doctor Strange, he has played Kublai Khan in Netflix's Marco Polo (2014–2016), Bruce Ng in The Martian (2015), and Wong in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (2016). Wong was born in Eccles, Greater Manchester, on July 3, 1971, to Hong Kong immigrant parents who had travelled through Ireland before settling in the United Kingdom. He grew up in Eccles and went to Salford City College (then known as De La Salle Sixth Form College) in Salford's surrounding area. He then went to Salford City College for a two-year performing arts course.
