February 26, India carried out air strikes on an alleged JeM terrorist camp deep within Pakistan. In the operation, India claimed to have killed "a substantial number of JeM militants, trainers, senior leaders, and groups of jihadis." The next day, Pakistan replied with its own air attacks in Indian Kashmir, as well as the detention of an Indian pilot whose plane was shot down while flying over Pakistani airspace.
