She was dubbed the "First Female Superstar" of Indian film and received several awards, including a National Film Award. Sridevi's five-decade career spans a variety of genres, from slapstick comedy to epic tragedies, and she is widely acknowledged as one of the most important actors in Indian cinema history. Sridevi died on February 24, 2018 at 19:00 GMT in her hotel room, when her husband discovered her.
