Walt Disney, an American animator and producer, dies of lung cancer at the age of 65 in 1966.
Disney's involvement in Disney World came to an end in late 1966, when he was diagnosed with lung cancer in his left lung, the result of a lifetime practise of chain smoking dating back to World War I. Roy paid him a visit on the 14th of December. Walt used the tiles as a grip map to point up to the ceiling. When Walt died the next morning, it came as a great shock to the Disney family and the whole globe. He died on December 15, 1966, at 9:35 a.m. PST, having just celebrated his 65th birthday two weeks before. "Acute circulatory collapse" was the official cause of death. His heart just ceased to beat.
