Pranab Kumar Mukherjee was an Indian statesman who served as the country's 13th president from 2012 to 2017. Mukherjee was a top politician in the Indian National Congress and held numerous cabinet positions in the Indian government over his five-decade political career. Mukherjee served as Union Finance Minister from 2009 to 2012 before being elected President.
