The Tuberculosis Research Centre (TRC) here reported significant progress in the first phase of clinical trials for an AIDS vaccine, giving India's HIV vaccine programme a major boost. The vaccine's safety and ability to stimulate immune response have been successfully demonstrated in preliminary results from a phase one trial (that might provide protection against infection).
