Bengali polymath Rabindranath Tagore (7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941) was a poet, playwright, writer, composer, philosopher, social reformer, and painter. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, he used contextual modernism to transform Indian art, Bengali literature, and music.
