Siddharth was born on April 17, 1979, in a Tamil family, he completed his education and earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Kirori Mal College in New Delhi. He was an involved college student who took part in a variety of activities. Siddharth began his career as a commercial film maker, which led to his being hired as Mani Ratnam's assistant director for the film Kannathil Muthamittal.
