His Royal Highness Charles, Prince of Wales marries Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005.
Charles and Camilla confirmed their engagement in February 2005, 35 years after they first met. There was much discussion over Camilla's title and whether she would ever be acknowledged as the Queen. It was reported that following the wedding, she would assume the title Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cornwall, in order to avoid sharing the title of Princess of Wales. Charles and Camilla married in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall on April 9. The best man was Prince William. The Queen and Prince Phillip did not attend the ceremony, but they did attend the reception and ceremonial blessing at Windsor Castle's St. George's Chapel.
