Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, also known as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance who lived from April 6, 1483 to April 6, 1520. He died in 1520, on his 37th birthday. He is part of the traditional trinity of great masters of that era, along with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. Raphael died on Good Friday (April 6, 1520), probably on the occasion of his 37th birthday. While working on the Loggia, the artist perished from weariness caused by unending amorous interests.
