Parveen Babi (April 4, 1954 – January 20, 2005) was an Indian model and actress. Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, Babi was best known for her roles in Hindi films. She was known as a glamorous fashion icon and one of the highest-paid actresses throughout her career. Babi made her acting debut in the 1973 film Charitra, and she first gained attention for her role as Neela in the drama film Majboor (1974). She made her debut as Anita in the action crime-drama film Deewaar (1975), and went on to star in numerous films throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, most notably as Jenny in Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Anu in Suhaag (1979), and Anita in Kaala Patthar (1980).
