Qatar has made wearing face masks mandatory, with anyone violating the rule facing a jail term of up to 3 years or a fine of up to $55,000 for repeatedly defying the order. The country has recorded one of the highest infection rates in the world for coronavirus. More than 30,000 people have tested positive out of a population of less than 3 million.
