Days after the 'offensive' speech and the backlash it received, the Chancellor of Purdue University Northwest has issued an apology for making a racist remark about Asian languages during a commencement speech. The Chancellor, Thomas L Keon, issued the apology on December 14. Earlier, Keon was severely criticised online for mocking Asian languages.
